What I will do as your next Lakewood City Councilmember:

The role of a City Councilmember enacts all legislation and general policy decisions governing Lakewood. In the past five years, I have been learning about Lakewood's strengths and opportunities through conversations, listening sessions, and in the past year, Lakewood Community Collaboration. I heard about the need to strengthen our residential neighborhoods, business corridors of Downtown, and other key areas. Stakeholders want more transportation infrastructure and services, diverse businesses, healthier and safer communities, and mindfulness of our environmental impacts. Together we can develop the necessary solutions!

I will work with City stakeholders, such as Lakewood residents, Councilmembers, city staff, and businesses, to guide the City's 2025-2026 goals.  The following are a few areas of focus:

It’s about our future, our families!

Last year, I was appointed by City Council to the Lakewood Promise Advisory Board (LPAB), which develops relationships among citizens and businesses to deliver The Five Promises to Lakewood youth. The Five Promises are adults that care, public safety, health, education, and equal opportunity. In the same week of my appointment, I participated at the Youth Empowerment Summit as the photographer. As this year's Chair, we continue to support our youth through our work plan, delivering on our promises and preparing them for adulthood. When the whole community works together to prepare our youth and support our families, we secure a brighter and more vibrant future! 

Create vibrant, sustainable, and economically thriving urban environments.

Local businesses have a special place in my heart. They are great for the community and add value to our economy! While I was at United Way of King County, we worked with local businesses and nonprofits. When healthy, they create jobs that help communities thrive. More importantly, they provide jobs for young people and teach them the necessary skills that guide them into adulthood.

In today’s economic landscape, we have lost too many businesses. Your vote allows me to bolster the vitality of our economic landscape. This leads to building a healthy and safe Lakewood.

I lead an organization that envisions a world that thrives together. What does that entail? Exactly what the Lakewood Promise Advisory Board calls for, promises for adults that care, public safety, health, education, and equal opportunity. Since the mid 90’s, I have been single-mindedly intentional on how to create cultures worth being in and making it happen.  

Lakewood has a unique demographic and I am experienced to bring our military personnel and their families, Lakewoodians, transplants, and Loggers & Lutes together to create a healthy and safe Lakewood. I look forward to work with our Lakewood neighbors, police, fire department, city staff, and businesses so we can all be proud to call Lakewood our home.

Finding solutions will take more than a few voices, it will take all of us to come together.
